What Montgomery County Asks For
The county's permit guide is specific, which helps. A registered site evaluator does the soil analysis. A registered sanitarian or professional engineer produces a sealed design in three sets. The application adds floor plans showing bedrooms and restrooms signed by the owner, floodplain status from the permit office, and a notarized power of attorney if someone other than the owner applies. The fee for a new residential system is $295, including a $10 TCEQ assessment.
The lot has to be at least 0.75 acre without a private well. Inspection requests go in by 3:00 p.m. two business days ahead, and a Notice of Approval comes before anything is backfilled.
